<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Shooting guard Dalton Pepper verbally committed to West Virginia on Friday, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. The 6-foot-5 Pepper is ranked No. 53 overall in the ESPN 100 and chose the Mountaineers over Temple, Villanova and Wake Forest.

Pepper said his desire to leave the Philadelphia area played in to his decision. "I liked it down there when I visited and wanted opportunity to play," he told the paper. "I wanted to go away. That was a big factor in my decision. If I would have stayed home, I probably would have decided on Temple. Fran Dunphy is a great coach. But I really liked coach (Bob) Huggins and West Virginia."

Pepper, who averaged 22.0 points per game as a junior, joins Keith DeWitt (High Point, N.C./Charis Prep) in Huggins' 2009 class.</div>

Huggs and his staff are doing a very good job of getting early commitments.
