Probasketballdraft @Probballdraft If John Henson slips by Detroit at 9, Portland could consider him but seems set on Meyers Leonard. Henson to the Bucks has legs.
Vin Parise @VinParise According to league sources, the Chicago Bulls are drafting Tyshawn Taylor from Kansas tonight with the 29th pick -- backup for Derrick Rose
According to Bucher and others there is strong indication Drummond will be there at #9 causing Henson to slip. #9: Drummond #10: Zeller/Rivers #11: Leonard
If he's there at 8, we should make a strong push to move from 11 to 8 with minor pieces. Chances are, Detroit is oging big regardless. N.O. a wild card, but toronto can very likely get the prospect they want at 1 they would take at 8. Say Waiters, if he was there.
I think Zeller is a safe pick. I think it's a lock that he'll be a very solid starting C for 10 years. He's a well rounded big.
That's a decent intersection between risk and reward, I still think it's highly likely that he turns into a bust, but at least if he is you probably don't get fired for drafting him there versus in the top 7.
So the Blazers leapfrog up the draft to take a player rumored to be available at 6, and also passing on Beal along the way? Defininite smoke and mirrors.
