The Fighting Irish are going home – sort of. For the first time since 1996, the annual Notre Dame-Navy showdown is heading back to Ireland. 2012 was supposed to be Navy’s turn to host the rivalry, but they opted instead to give college football fans a chance to take a really cool vacation. The game will be played in the sleek new Aviva Stadium, home to the Republic of Ireland’s national rugby and soccer squads. The stadium has also been noted for its environmental consciousness, which is of utmost importance to drunk college football tourists. More tourism dollars, more exposure for the country’s beauty and tens of thousands of new people to get drunk with? This is a win-win-win for Ireland. http://www.sportsgrid.com/ncaa-football/notre-dame-navy-football-ireland-2012/
What a great opportunity for the players! Be interesting to see what kind of rowdy crowd this brings out!
