I'm a lifelong duck fan, but don't follow every aspect of the team like you guys. Wondering if you have any links on what I should expect this fall when it comes to new players filling in the holes left by guys like Barner and Jordan. Thanks

while there are some articles out there profiling whats to come, in general they're pretty much fluff pieces. When the season is looming in the fall, the usual suspects at the RG, O & ESPN will be ramping up their coverage and putting out more in depth articles. What I'll mostly be looking for is who emerges at the Linebacker spots

I'll weigh in on the two guys you specifically asked about. The two main guys trying to fill Dion's shoes this fall should be Tony Washington and Christian French. TW will be a Jr and is a solid player though he doesn't have Dion's length or speed. French does but he's battled injuries his Redshirt and Freshman years. He seemed good to go in the Spring game where he totaled 11 tackles iirc.

Barner's touches probably go to a combo of De'Anthony, Marshall & Tyner. I'd love to see what DAT could do with a full year as the featured guy like Kenyon was featured last year but they may keep him relegated to the TZR role that he's done so well at. Marshall brings more size and speed to the RB spot then KB did and he looked really impressive in the Spring game. Maybe he's just more comfortable in his 2nd year in the offense? Tyner... skies the limit though he may take some time adjusting to the speed of the college game and learning the offense

Thanks man! What about backup QB? Will we be screwed if Mariota goes down? Man i'm pumped for the season and really hope we don't miss Chip!

the two Redshirt Freshman have some talent and both showed very well in the Spring game. Jake Rodrigues has NFL size and a big arm... he's the 4* recruit. Jeff Locke is a good athlete but doesn't quite have Jake's size or arm strength. He's more of a guy with coach's son intangibles and great feel for the game. I don't think the wheels would fall off if Marcus were to go down, but I very much doubt either backup would be able to take over without them missing a beat... MM always seemed a special talent to me
