Sooo three matchups are set now. Here are my thoughts on each. Spurs/Grizzlies: I will root for ZBo to destroy Aldridge. The Grizzlies have upset the Spurs before. Last year, Grizzlies were hurt. Is Marc Gasol healthy this year? I think this is the third time they've faced in the playoffs so it should be a grudge match. I look forward to it. Also, there's a Gasol vs Gasol subplot here. Thunder/Rockets: Not sure. I don't like Westbrook or Harden. Westbrook winning would be an upset and I love upsets. Rockets play a fun style of basketball and it'd be fun to see them win the second round vs Spurs if Grizzlies don't get them first. This will be interesting. Jazz/Clippers: Rooting for the Jazz here. Been a long time since they've had playoff success. Have they won a series since Sloan left? Another Clippers choke would be fun. It's so weird because all their stars are in TV commercials throughout the playoffs but they're not playing anymore. Maybe this is the Clippers' year? When they started the season healthy, they were 10-1. They are the last Western Conference team to win a playoff series against the Warriors (2014) so a second round matchup with them if WE lose (if we make it) would be interesting. Your thoughts?
I agree. Won't it be delightful to win again against the Jazz to take the 2nd round? The Blazers could be headed for a championship if the magic of the defense continues!
Blazers/Warriors: This is going to be an interesting series. Durant is back but still not quite 100% Blazers have been playing phenomenal. Just slayed the Jazz without Nurk and Crabbe. Nurk should be back for the playoffs and Kerr better bring a change of pants. Blazers in 6 Spurs/Grizzlies: Basically a free series for the Spurs. I just don't see Memphis giving pop and the boys much trouble, especially with their injuries. Will Zbo still come off the bench in the playoffs? Memphis did take them out when they were an 8th seed back in the day, but they aren't the same team. A sense a little fight in the dog, but don't think their will be enough gas in the tank. Though it would be awesome if I were wrong. Spurs in 4 Jazz /Clippers: These two are still fighting for home court. I think either way this series will belong to the had a in 5 or 6. The clippers haven't had the soul to get far in the playoffs and I don't think they will start now. OKC/Houston: This is going to be a hell of a series. Westbrook vs Harden. It's going to come down to who wants it more and who runs out of gas first. Gardens more of a flopper but not by much. It's going to be close. Who has the better supporting cast? Probably Harden. Is Kanter back? OKC in 7
The Warriors will take a 3-1 lead against us... and win the series 4-2 Spurs over Grizzlies in 6, Kawhi will prove to be too much for the Grizzlies. Rockets over Thunder in 7, Harden squeaks out a series win with a very unimpressive stretch of games but the Rockets depth prevails. Jazz over the Clippers in 6, this is the series that forces CP3 back to New Orleans.
You really think the Spurs/Grizzlies series is going to make it to 7 games? Clippers are going to beat the Jazz in 5? Portland losing in 5?
I have Portland losing in 5 purely because my hope is to not get eliminated on our home floor. If healthy, I think the Jazz would be too much for the Clippers. But they're not healthy. If the Spurs still had Duncan I'd say they win in 4. But without Duncan it's going to rely on Deadman and Pau to limit Marc. I just don't see those two being able to do that. Aldridge don't want none of Marc.. Granted he don't want none of Z-bo either rofl.
God I'd love to see Pop bench Aldridge... Granted I'm going to enjoy watching Zbo go off in a game or two, while shutting Aldridge down. If Allen can slow Leonard down at all... I'm not sure this series will be as easy for the Spurs.
Agree with everything except LA over Utah. I think Utah matches up well against the clippers.[/QUOTE] To me Utah is pretty well beat up that why I choose the Clippers.
Look Out! Grizz Gasol can make a 3. Want Grizzes. Like Houston due to their style of play but that series will be a last game wins it scene. IMO> the best matchup and probably the most watched series. Want Utah!!! Hate LAC (my new defecto LA hated team)
I think we win one. We deploy street tactics and cruel rhetoric. Meyers gets into a fight with DGreen, Curry goes into a massive slump. Durant is mentally haunted by an IRS seven year net worth audit and their team mascot is finally retrieved in a bar in South City SF.
