When was our last NAIA player? Was it Jerome?

I think Longwood was Division II when Jerome plays there.

That dude is very enticing. If I was Neil I would bring him in and have him go against guys like Neemias, Bassey, or even Jericho sims to see how he does against real big men. If he does well, then certainly go draft him

I was thinking more Billy Madison playing dodgeball, but basically the same idea.

New Orleans has pick 10 in the 1st round, and picks 34, 40, 43, 53.
    OKC has 3 1sts and 3 2nds.

JT Thor has the best body in the draft. Dunno anything about the rest of his game.

I really like Scottie Barnes's potential. My favorite prospect.

He probably agrees with Hedo Turkoglu on the Toronto vs. Portland issue.

i've been repeatedly saying this here for about two months now ever since Windhorst mentioned that their ownership offered him an extension, but he hasn't yet signed it. I think he's gonna do their draft and bounce before the FA season starts (really curious where he ends up, was thinking NY but the CAA crew there seem to have stabilized things). Timing is dicey considering how much roster turnover is expected in Toronto.

Unfortunately, our FO and ownership seem completely spellbound by whatever Neil is selling to make any changes now.

Neil Looking better according to graph. Doesn't surprise me on Presti. With all those picks , he will be able to disguise his mediocrity.

One thing I would like to know (and never will) is how much influence each named GM has on his team's picks. Of course it will vary, but I bet there are plenty who just go to the scouts and say "Who should we pick?" and just go with that (if there's consensus). I bet some GMs never bother to watch much tape. Just as players have different strengths, GMs do, whether it be negotiating with agents, bargaining with other teams in trades, making sure the franchise is a money-making enterprise, whatever. Neil reminds me of one of those bureaucrats who has worked out the people he needs to please to keep his job and is VERY good at that. He also seems to like to insert himself into "special occasions" - like Melo's scoring achievement last season.

It doesn't appear that they have given any weight to where the pick was taken. Missing on the #10 pick hurts a lot more than missing on the #50 pick. Conversely, hitting on the #50 pick is a lot more impressive than hitting on the #10.

But then, hitting on the #50 pick is almost pure luck.
