It would be fine if the Blazers had a 68% winning record at home like the Mavericks.
But they don't. It's only 56 percent.
That difference has to be made up somehow.

On the verge of being closer to 50% very soon

In the second half we would drive into a defender with contact, no call. Immediately on the other end of the court the exact same level of contact and a whistle.

yeah, I forget who it was I had a little back & forth with earlier in the thread, but I said I had no doubt at all the Bulls were going to get the majority of the whistles in the 2nd half. Completely predictable

still, you can't really blame the loss for that. Giving up 60% shooting and 46% on three's will lose 99 out of 100 games....science

You don’t get to the line much when you rely so much on the jumper

do you have the numbers for Blazer jumpshots in the first half vs 2nd half? Kind of hard to gauge your statement without those numbers

for the season, by the way, Portland is 9th in the NBA in FTA's a game; the Bulls are 24th

Take it to the rack and you’ll get whistles. It’s that simple. Blaming refs for losses might be the laziest thing a fan can do.

I just don’t think the league’s officials have an axe to grind with the Blazers.

When I was a youngster I was the absolute biggest basher of the refs. Like it was irrational. Then my dad really instilled in me when I played sports that if you are relying on officiating then you really didn’t deserve to win anyways. Nothing was really egregious in this game. If you attack the whistles generally go your way.

the only thing I said, and I said it before the 2nd half, is that it was nearly certain the 2nd half officiating would change because of the 1st half box score. The officials look at that too. And the officiating did change. What was a foul in the 1st half wasn't a foul in the 2nd half; and what was a foul on one end of the floor wasn't called the same, consistently, on the other end of the floor.

Chicago completed pounded the Blazers in every way, shape and form. But Lillard and Simons had lots of points, so it's a great day to be a Blazers fan?

Is it just me, or has Grant been kind of mediocre recently?
yes he has and if he wants any more than the 4 yr max he's been offered at 28 mil per then F him, hell 28 mil is way too much for a shitty rebounder and the way he has been playing

no it wasn't called evenly

Blazers had a 16-2 first half edge in FT's. The officials looked at that at halftime and made adjustments, and one of the adjustments was to give the Bulls the benefit of the doubt on both ends of the floor. That's how the Bulls had a 23-6 edge in FT's in the 2nd half

now you can look at the FT totals for the two teams and say "look, it was pretty even". But the reality is that the officials changed how they called the game at halftime and it favored the bump & grind defense the Bulls were playing.

that's not to say that was the main reason, or only reason, the Bulls won. But it was just more headwind a team playing a B2B and 3rd in 4 nights was facing. Good officiating wouldn't have 'needed' a big adjustment at halftime. it would have remained consistent. This was not good officiating.
My gawd man???
Does everything have to be in green font?
I mean honestly did you actually think i was serious? I sit and watch the games.

You are a great poster here but seriously speaking consider the source. I'm like serious 2 to 3% of the time. Maybe? By the way i totally agree with you. that game was called full swing one way and then full swing the other. It was absolutely nauseating to watch. Horrible performance by Scott Foster. AGAIN.

I was just looking for a trigger. Your post was handy and had only one word I needed: 'evenly'

it could have been anybody...:)
