I believe the term is “lost the team”.

Players that zone out the coaches instructions typically leads to a coach getting canned. I hope he doesn’t answer to his superiors with “they didn’t do what I told them to”

AKA- they don’t have respect for you

Is it easier to fire the coach or to trade the vets who are fucking up both the development of our young rebuild and the team morale/culture?

It’s easier to blame the coach than the players. That’s an easy one.

The vets aren't the only thing holding these young players back. Chauncey is too.

I'm really not sure about that and I don't know how you could be either. I will say once again, I'd love to see Chauncey get a chance with a roster that makes sense. He sure seemed to be great at developing the last part of last season when Scoot was the number one guy and the end of the season before that when Shaedon was.

Weird how when Chauncey had a group of players who had a singular goal and didn't have competing interests, he finally looked like he had a cohesive approach to coaching. Doing a youth rebuild without completely tearing it down is wildly unfair to any coach and that's the only thing this team has given Chauncey to work with.

Again, I don't know if Chauncey would be a good coach if given a real opportunity but to this point he hasn't been given one. Blazers mismanagement is far worse than Blazers coaching.

I want to see this team without Grant/Ant before judging a single thing. They’re terrible for developing chemistry. That’s where I’m still at

Chauncey's roster rotations and endgames suck...his challenges suck. He's throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks...his defensive coaching is not bad but man he doesn't manage games very well in my opinion. I think he'd make a good assistant coach. First couple seasons I could see him learning...last couple, not so much. Our lottery picks haven't been winning any rookie awards from what I've seen. I'm ready for new coaching. We looked so much better when Chauncey took those two games off to attend his grandmother's funeral.

I know who id get to replace Chauncey, Jim Moran. He's a hell of motivator of young men and has solid basketball mind. He not afraid to get real with players and good teacher as well.

The offense is atrocious. Are we still worst in the league? Does nothing to get his players easy shots. No off-ball action. Players repeatedly get to 4 fouls in the first half.

    Just to name a few.

The Blazers have good defensive players. Camara, Avdija, Clingan, Timelord, Murray...even Banton. But Portland ranks 26th in defense. Should they be better on defense than they are? Are bad defenders getting too many minutes? This season, the Blazers added Avdija & Clingan while Timelord has doubled the games over last season. Yet, Portland's defensive rating this season is the same as last season; last season they ranked 23rd, this season 26th. Is that a coaching issue or just artifacts of a dysfunctional roster?

I dont think Simons, Scoot or Shaedon are great point of attack on ball defenders.
