    I hope it's the thing Shaedon needs to motivate him to be better. If I were Shaedon it would be pretty hard for me to take being benched for defense seriously if Ant isn't also going to be (I see that Ant is out tonight).

    That being said Shaedon seems like the type of player who is more interested in holding himself accountable than others, I just hope this isn't discouraging for him.

    it's kind of a joke if Sharpe is benched because of his defense and Simons isn't. I'd be pretty confident every player on the team knows Simons plays the worst defense on the team

    But Ant would be in the lineup over Scoot if he were available. Billups needs to be on the next train out of Portland…..maybe train is not the right term

    the same coach who is benching Sharpe because of bad defense has started Simons 174 straight games when he's been available

    Billups also started Simons and Scoot to begin the 2023-24 season, with a healthy Sharpe.

    After Sharpe played his best ball to end the 2022-23 season and Scoot was a rookie. And Simons is Simons.

    Billups seems to be on a different page than many of us regarding Simons and Sharpe.

    I would trade Ayton for Vuj -- the Bulls GM is pretty stupid he might go for it

    of course I would trade Ayton for the right to see if Ha Seung-jin wants to un retire and return that is how desperate I want Ayton off this team

    I'm OK with benching Shae for lack of defense and not Simons. For one, Shae has a lot more tools that he isn't using. And two, Billups probably just considers Simons a lost cause on defense so benching him wouldn't have an effect.
