@Chris Craig great job! But I think you might piss a few off putting Jerami Grant as a starter.

Unfortunately, I think he is starting. Maybe not in preseason. Still waiting for actual starting lineups.

I can see him starting. I just don't think they'll start him over Sharp

If Grant starts the game, The Conductor shouldn’t finish the game. By every report Sharpe has been one of, if not the best player in camp. The Jackwad said it himself…..The players will decide

I see nothing wrong with this. Deni is great off the bench.

Yuck. Grant just needs to embrace being our super sub 6th man and our scoring punch off the bench.

Playing devil's advocate........ couldn't he be a scoring punch off the bench if he started, then came out at the 7 minute mark, then came back in with the bench players to start the 2nd quarter?

My point being, does it really matter when all 3 forwards will get 30+ minutes regardless if they start or not?

A team that wants to be known as a defensive team, not starting one of the top defensive players in the league, is also grounds for immediate termination

I still think one can argue that star players ease into a game before they heat up. They often start by getting their teammates more involved. So having Camara come in at the 7-minute mark to shut them down (with no fouls) is not that bad. The guy is going to get his minutes. I wouldn't even discount that he plays some backup center at times if the Blazers decided to go small

Sure, yeah. But our forwards of the present and future are TC and Deni, and they’re currently our best defensive player and best all-around player. I like Grant, but forcing him into the starting lineup feels like such a short-sighted move. Like you said, there are enough forward minutes for them to all get 30, I hope his all come from off the bench.

Just play to win is all I’m asking this year. I don’t give a rats ass who freaking starts. Play to fucking win.
If Grant helps the team win then play him. If he is a problem then sit his ass down.

    Tired of the Silly Crap!

I agree for the most part. But who starts also depends on who else starts. For example, if prime Dame was starting, there would be no question that I would go with Deni and Tou as my starters next to him. But they got 35-year-old Jrue starting, and I don't think he will be offering a lot of scoring at this point in his career. You need at least 3 solid scorers in the starting lineup to keep the D honest.

I understand that Camara arguably had the better offense stats last year, but defense is his calling card. If Grant has not improved, then sure sit him, but I can see why they would try him in the starting lineup.

It matters a lot to the players. See Grant's comments. There's a belief with old veteran players once you go to a bench role you never get a starting role back.

He is the Blazers highest paid player and longest tenured played. He's entitled to start regardless of other players helping the team win more than him. Doesn't matter if me or you agree with that statement, Grant believes it.

Yeah, I don't really care what Grant thinks. I was replying to the post that starting him would be a firing offense. That is the part where I don't think there is much of a difference. Both Camara and Deni will be getting big minutes.
