At this point, we are in talent acquisition mode. Scoot looks like the truth. The way he can just find shooters is pretty incredible already. I want to be able to surround Scoot with as many shooters as possible.

Right now, a high potential guy begging to be rescued that I’ve been looking at is Zaire Williams. He recently turned 22.

    Combine Measurements:
    6’8.25 barefoot (6’9.75 in shoes)
    8’10.5 standing reach
    188lbs
    6’10.25 wingspan

Still very raw. He hasn’t shot well from 3 in college or the NBA yet, but is pretty much a 80% FT shooter. His skillset is kind of in the PG mold like Miller is. He actually reminds me of a less refined Brandon Miller/Trey Murphy.

Defensively, he can guard the opposing best wing on a nightly basis. If 6’6 Shaedon and 6’10 Z.Williams maximize their potential as shooters and defenders, Scoot is going to be averaging A LOT of assists.

What’s the gauge on Z.Williams as a prospect here?

Asking price doesn’t seem very high. He’s stuck there and really can’t get the minutes to develop, Memphis has done an amazing job drafting forwards. I don’t think Ziaire is going to fetch a 1st, and he can’t really do anything to improve his value while he’s on a contending team.

Ziaire got a lot of chances to develop, but he's bascially the same he was when he came into the league. Maybe he takes a step this year, but it's not on the Grizzlies that he didn't develop more.
