Runyan later turned down the offer to return to the Philadelphia Eagles for just over $4 million per year for three years. There goes your "people dont want to go to the Jets theory", once again a top player went for the money, not to mention staying in Philadelphia where hes has a family and is loved by the Eagles fans.Jets | Team may resume efforts to sign HopkinsSat, 25 Mar 2006 05:01:12 -0800The New York Daily News reports the New York Jets may resume their efforts to sign free agent OT Brad Hopkins (Titans), now that they failed to sign OT Jon Runyan. Talks are ongoing with the Jets, according to Hopkins' agent, Mark Bartelstein. Not suprising. It really seems like the Jets have very little interest in D'Brickashaw since we are interviewing all 3 Quarterbacks, Mario Williams and chasing people like Jon Runyan and Brad Hopkins in Free AgencyJets | Some unhappy with the way Tannenbaum works tradesSat, 25 Mar 2006 09:32:30 -0800Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports some team officials from around the NFL are unhappy with the way New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum works trades. One players' agent said, "Mike's getting greedy," while another agent added, "Everybody tells me the Jets are very hard to deal with and it hasn't changed." An Atlanta source said a member of the Atlanta Falcons hierarchy labeled the Jets bringing the Seattle Seahawks into a trade as "a little amateurish" and said, "We've never seen a team behave like this." Despite receiving some mixed reviews, Tannenbaum has been active, acquiring QB Patrick Ramsey from the Washington Redskins for a sixth-round pick while some Jets insiders thought the Jets would have to give up a fourth-round pick. Tannenbaum also acquired a second first-round draft choice in the 2006 NFL Draft when dealing DL John Abraham to the Atlanta Falcons. Thus far, his two first deals have been good for the Jets.Anomynous Agents ehhmmm.... Probably Tony Agnone and Rich Rosa (Abraham's agents), and it sounds like the Falcons front office is pissed that they couldnt work us over for a discounted price like the Terry Bradway regime could have done. Speaking of amateurish though, this is the team that worked out a deal with a player before agreeing on compensation (Which is ass-backwards) and there trying to call us "Amateurish" LMAO, sounds like you got pissed that we resorted to your level.</div>
Dang the Jets really need to rebuild there team before it falls apart. If i were the GM the first thing i do is get rid of Chad and Patrick to get Schaub and a draft pick from another team. Then i would draft Matt Leinart and Jason Avant. Then i would get defensive players.
There goes your "people dont want to go to the Jets theory", once again a top player went for the money, not to mention staying in Philadelphia where hes has a family and is loved by the Eagles fans.So sue me for believing KFFL... the exact same thing you are doing now in fact. Not suprising. It really seems like the Jets have very little interest in D'Brickashaw since we are interviewing all 3 Quarterbacks, Mario Williams and chasing people like Jon Runyan and Brad Hopkins in Free AgencyNot really, if there were a quality DE available we'd be going after him too.... oh wait, we did that. If there were a quality QB available, we'd go after him too.... oh wait, we did that too. Hmmm.... and we interviewed D'Brickashaw First....Nice grasp at straws though, really, I could see how the more naive of people could be taken in by your false logic though.Anomynous Agents ehhmmm.... This is actually a big indicator for me that we won't be trading up in the draft. Since Tannenbaum is such a "greedy" (I'd call him "shrewd" negotiator, I don't see him paying the price to trade up two slots.

I have yet to see anything saying the Jets are interesting in D'Brickashaw since the senior bowl, so if you have something that says otherwise, please show me it.My guess is that something happened during the senior bowl week which led our front office to look in another direction, but thats just my opinion though.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Anomynous Agents ehhmmm.... If the Jets can take advantage I think they need to find a trade with Pennington soon as possible. Maybe a late 2nd rounder would be perfect. Take Jay Cutler or Leinhart in the draft. Then you need some work on defense. Probably picking a DE or a DT would help this crippling defensive line. After that if a good WR is left, maybe Avant, take him 3rd rd with your 4th pick. Then I think the Jets can get somewhere.

The Jets need to fill in a lot of spots where they have missed out on some of the past drafts. They need some more help in the FA.
