This has got to be the worst trade for the Warriors I have heard yet...

Lakers send Shaq to Dallas, Gary Payton and Devean George to Golden State

The Mavericks send Antoine Walker, a re-signed Steve Nash and Josh Howard to the Lakers and Tony Delk to the Warriors

The Warriors send a re-signed Dampier and Cliff Robinson to the Lakers

This is off of the ESPN website. So basically we would be sending Damp and Cliffy for Payton, Devean George and Tony Delk. Yaaahh.

Here's what gets me: Why is everyone looking to replace Speedy? Wasn't he impressive enough last year? I mean does anyone besides me see him as a starter? Good lord I hope this trade DOES NOT go down. I also love Robinson.
Wouldn't this put 5 PG's on our Roster? This is way too weird.
I wasn't impressed with Delk the first time we had him, man this deal pisses me off even more the more I think about it.

Nash is unlikely. More likely, it would be Stackhouse and/or Laetner for cap
purposes and Devin Harris included for talent.

Yeah, thats a horrible trade for the Warriors...Delk and George are practically useless...and Payton is clearly in a decline of his career...

I can't even find the report on ESPN, and secondly this trade would be absolute B.S. if The Diggler isn't included in any transaction.

So I guess post away hehe. Fortunately we have members here who also have insider articles and they'll spill out the rest if they can.

I wouldn't do it, the mods would take it down. And there's a way to highlight it. I think you just disable javascript or you open up the source of the page and just pick out the text.

or you could just take a screen shot, and copy/paste that...there are plenty of ways...but im not too concerned lol.

either way...this trade isnt too bad. damp is already testing the market, and lots of teams want him, so chances are your losing him anyways. this way, you really only loose cliff and in return get the glove and george. glove is in the decline of his career, but i dont think this past season is a good measuring stick to how he can play. he's better then we saw. george is a decent role player, and logged good minutes for the lake show. he'd be a decent utility guy off the bench

I don't think we could take the Glove after what he did to Speedy Claxton. Plus Cliff still makes an impact on defense at his age and he's a real leader. Devean George won't be needed. The 2, 3 positions are filled to the max. We need more PF and C and a possible third point guard sinec NVE and Claxton are injury prone.

I think George is better than Dunleavy and has the making of a star.

I think he COULD be a star someday. He was the 3rd fiddle in LA, he could easily be a 1st or 2nd star on almost any team in the league.

^^thats going overboard. dunleavy has just as much potential to be a star as george, if not more. george is more athletic, but dunleavy has better handle and better passing skills. they both seem to be kinda streaky shooters. there is no way in hell george could be a 1st or 2nd option on any team, he's just not that good offensively. for a guy his size, he's got no post game either...he's a sixth man at best. almost any team in the league...you'd be hard pressed to name 3 teams he'd be the 1st or 2nd star on

I would take Dunleavy over George any day of the week. Glad this trade didn't go down.
