there's no way. just not possible. their bones would outgrow their skin and they wouldn't survive past 10 feet tall, max.

I think it would have something to do with genetic defects which in itself is usually a problem. I can't imagine skin not growing for no reason. In anatomy class our prof showed this one guy who was like over 8 feet, but he only survived to his mid-20s. He had a tumor on his brain which caused his growth hormones to go wacko, and the same tumor killed him. They couldn't operate on a tumor of the brain at that time (I think it was late 1800's/early 1900's).<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ballerman2112 @ Oct 15 2006, 01:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>retarted</div>Uh huh...

You know, I heard Marv Albert and Bill Walton say this once, they said that Yao isnt much taller than Shaq, doesn't help any, Walton said he looks like it slows him down. But 7'9 is a bit different...I see him dying in the next ten years..most giants die youngAnatomy of a Giant*TV-PGPremiere October 15 at 8:00 PM ET/PTFollow the incredible journey of Sun Ming Ming, a young man who dreams of moving beyond his life in China to one in the ultra-competitive NBA. Ming is the world's second-tallest man, standing seven feet, nine inches tall. Tragically, however, the very thing that makes him a coach's dream may also end his life. Ming suffers from a tumor in his pituitary gland, causing it to secrete excessive amounts of growth hormone. Over time, Ming's heart simply will not be able to grow along with him and his key organs will fail. Only in the U.S. can Ming find the help he needs

I wish there was a way I could watch the show...I feel awful about Sun Ming Ming's predictament. His life seems so sad...Also, to answer SouthBeast's question, I read somwhere that Sun Ming Ming is actually athletic and a very good basketball player, but due to his brain tumor, he can't continuously run for more than 15 minutes or so.</span>

Puturitary(sp?) issues have caused a lot of the seven footers we see today, but the human body just isn't developed enough to be able to support a height of much more than 7'5". thats why many of these "giants" die at early ages. it takes a huge toll on their heart. With all that said, I have read a lot about the giant bones found in varius places. In my opinion their are either fabrications, misintepretations of already known homonides, or another speicies all together. 36 feet for a prehistoric animal is not uncommon, but it most definatly wouldn't be human. it could however be another primate, maybe even a precursor to modern humans.

If humans in general actually have an average height of whatever (Say 10ft) - than the body adapts to all changes. The reason big people usually die is because blood can't get to their extremeties...this includes your brain. The reason for this, is the heart isn't strong enough to keep the blood pressure high enough for it to reach those areas. If humans do get to be like this, than their heart will adapt and become stronger and bigger. It could happen.

Mythological bullsh**. The tallest human ever was like 8"11 I think, and that is because he had a growth disease. It is simply not possible.
