anyone else see a pattern emerging b/t Russian forces and US forces, not only in Syria, but the Ukraine, and other Nations soon to be named, .... Reminds me too much of KAL Flight 007, shot down on 01 September, 1983; over Moneron Island, west of Sakhalin, in the Sea of Japan....and the lack of actions taken... if the call were mine, I'd be more than sounding bells and whistles, as well pointing out the non-caring lack of resolutions b/t Empirical BS Negotiations b/t a POS instead of a POTUS, who doesn't give a shit....(aka FUKU Pukin) 39 Incidents proves that much, during Obuma's last 2 years....There has never been this amount of Incidents, ever, not even during the Cold War... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...litary-and-nato-since-march-2014-9851309.html For a list of all 39 Incidents since March 2014; reference URL article above.... at no other time during The Cold War were there ever close to these many incidents in close too two years..... The European Leadership Network (ELN) examined 39 incidents of military encounters between Russian planes and boats, and NATO forces and allies, in the last eight months to conclude that the "highly disturbing" violations of National Airspace, had caused several incidents where military confrontation or the loss of life was narrowly avoided. The Russian su-27 fighter jet photographed next to a Swedish intelligence plane. Close Fkng Call..... http://freebeacon.com/national-security/russian-jet-threatened-u-s-recon-aircraft/?utm_source=Freedom Mail&utm_campaign=7d187e4d5d-WFB_Morning_Beacon_04_18_164_17_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-7d187e4d5d-45993021 (excerpt) - “This unsafe and unprofessional air intercept has the potential to cause serious harm and injury to all aircrews involved,” he said. “More importantly, the unsafe and unprofessional actions of a single pilot have the potential to unnecessarily escalate tensions between countries.” According to Hernandez, the Su-27 carried out “erratic and aggressive maneuvers” by approaching the RC-135 at a high rate of speed from the side. The Russian jet “then proceeded to perform an aggressive maneuver that posed a threat to the safety of the U.S. aircrew in the RC-135U,” the spokesman said. “More specifically, the SU-27 closed within 50 feet of the wing-tip of the RC-135 and conducted a barrel roll starting from the left side of the aircraft, going over the top of the aircraft and ended up to the right of the aircraft,” he said. The U.S. government is protesting all the incidents this week to the Russian government through diplomatic channels, he said. In other words more Obama uninterested, trade the farm-bullshit, Additionally, last October, two Russian Tu-142 bombers made low passes near the aircraft carrier USS Reagan as it sailed in the Sea of Japan near the Korean peninsula. And on July 4, 2015, two Tu-95 nuclear-capable bombers approached within 40 miles of the California coast and radioed a “happy birthday” message to intercepting U.S. pilots. The July 4 provocation occurred the same day President Obama held a telephone call with Putin. Russia also has sent Tu-95 bombers to circle the Pacific island of Guam several times. The island is a major military hub and central to the U.S. military’s pivot to Asia. NATO has had B2's on full alert on Poland's Border with the Ukraine; since Russia invaded the Ukraine. Give us a POTUS with balls, and NO that is not Chumpia pet (water the hair and watch it grow like red- Seaweed, or, Alfalfa). NATO must be made strong again, per its original charter, but Trump would eliminate NATO if he'd eliminate the Dept of Environmental which does not, he'd off NATO in a heart beat, thinking it was a North Atlantic Trade Organization....... Next POTUS has their hands full, b/t the little N. Korean Dicktater, Russia, Iran, China/Taiwan relations, hell even China Tibet relations, et al....NATO needs to flex its muscle....but first we have to have a POTUS who knows how to manage crisis, and that is not Hillary, and it sure as hell is not Chump.....
Russians want another cold war....partly because Putin thinks that level of instability raises oil prices. Personally I think America was at its best opposing Soviets and their aggression. Would be nice to see us ramp up our rules of engagement. Tell Putin, we give 1 warning and there won't be a second, rather we will resolve the issue by bullet, shell, missile, laser or hypervelocity projectile. As for the ChiComs, glad we rolled out the drone sub technology. This has implications for Iran too now that they have Russian made S-300 missile system. One version of the drone sub launches a swarm of minidrones that can defeat anti air and clear a path for cruise missiles and planes.
Before the Berlin Wall came down the Russians were pretty much in one place where they were watched and contained. The Soviet breakups afterword end resulted in who is in charge and minding the store. Putin is sure that the current occupant of the White House is a mere hose boy and probably assuming that the next occupant will be the same. Remembering my times in Berlin and West Germany (the zone) the Americans pretty much ran the show which made me sleep better at night.
...^^^ Amen Tote, Amen, You need to run for Office my friend....! I'd vote for You, w/ 59 on the same ticket, kaching....
...^^^ Michael, You want to come out of retirement, and give Tote the job you don't want SOD or SOS......?
Back in '63 when I joined up, there was the Naval Security Group, Air Force Security Service, and my group the Army Security Agency. As Casey said you could look it up. Each one of those units required high AVAB Scores and the ability to hold a Top Secret or higher clearance. The ASA motto was We Served in Silence, and In God We Trust, All Others We Monitor. Back to We Served In Silence, we could not discuss our work, 10 years jail, 10 K fine was a lot of punishment to a 100 buck a month PFC trusted to "Serve in Silence: Singer Johnny Cash served in the Air Force Security Service. Personnel in that unit were the upper one per cent of enlistees. Cash was a Morse Code Interceptor Operator by his AFS. We ASA people had them as well, called HOGS, or Ditty Boppers. I heard Cash mention during an interview that he received a Letter of Commendation for making the first intercept of Morse Code from a Soviet Bison Bomber to ground. Again remembering the 10 years, 10 K I could not believe that Cash told that story. The old security groups are gone now, but one can look them up, but good old NSA still remains and maybe that's why I can still sleep. Lots of bad shit on the other side, I remember, and that is why I am largely conservative and right wing: God Bless the US.
Keep an eye on the next NK nuke test. I heard a security expert discuss they have likely been testing nukes for them and Iran. On the flip side, Iran is testing ballistic missiles to mate up with the NK nukes. Bad shit being aided by ChiComs and Russia.
...^^^ in my book, Johnny Cash was what everyone wanted John Wayne to be in real life, not a singer, but the True Grit Man JC really was..... I can see why Cash was a huge influence on You, and too top it off, you both play(ed) a 'Tennessee Flat Top Box'...while serving this Nation...incredible stuff YF...!!!
btw- PS: America's entry into WWII, resulted in a deluge of support for the war effort from all sectors of society, and Hollywood was no exception. Wayne was exempted from service due to his age (34 at the time of Pearl Harbor) and family status, classified as 3-A (family deferment). He repeatedly wrote John Ford saying he wanted to enlist, on one occasion inquiring whether he could get into Ford's military unit, but consistently kept postponing it until after "he finished just one or two pictures". Wayne did not attempt to prevent his reclassification as 1-A (draft eligible), but Republic Studios was emphatically resistant to losing him. H.J. Yates, President of Republic, threatened Wayne with a lawsuit if he walked away from his contract, and Republic Pictures intervened in the Selective Service process, requesting Wayne's further deferment.... JW- the Man tried as any good citizen in WWII would, Bless 'em both JW & JC....
At my first ops site some wag put up a picture of Nikita Kruschev with a hand written caption "To the boys at the 12th USASA Field Station from the boys at the CCCP. Keep up the good work or we will bury you". Nice try Nikita. Probably not possible but a good way to shut down North Korean Propaganda would be to go in sink or do major damage to the Pueblo. Their bullshit today is pretty much what we experienced back in the day but with a bit more style. Used to catch "Pyongyang Polly: with all the latest NK propaganda some which was simply out there.
...^^^ good stuff Michael, I'd read your Service Memoirs, if you ever decided to write 'em, seriously. I can read this stuff, (your accounts) all day, and never never, get bored...~~!!
