We really need a bench for next year because chances are we won't be as healthy as we were this year. And the West will be as strong as ever, so if one of our starters go down, good bench players will be paramount to our chances of making the playoffs next year.
We don't have the money or the draft picks for a bench next year. We will probably end up signing Mo Williams and a couple of other part timers.
I hate that you won't shut up about him. Good grief dude. I think you made about 15 posts about Mo tonight in the game thread.
The best thing for the Blazers financially is for Mo to exercise his player option for next season. If he really wants to be here, that approach doesn't impact the MLE money.
You know, even with his contract the way it is, Batum might have some value. I'll bet we could get a couple of first rounders for him.
Deng will be overpaid. We have some decent talent on the bench, any of our guys on the bench, would somehow work in Pop's system.
Cap space. It'll severely limit us for future flexibility. He's up for a new contract and he'll be looking to get paid more than Batum is.
I dunno, I have high hopes for him. He's taking the classic 2 steps forward, 1 step back growth, but he keeps taking those two steps. I think he's our 6th man in the not so distant future, and a legit one.
