http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070521/wl_af...sm_070521135438personally I think it's BS that Statue of liberty was not in the top 10 and Golden Gate Bridge was not even a voting option. Ask 1000 people what "Petro in Jordan" is and ask a thousand people what the statue of liberty is and probably 99.9% of them will know the latter and about half will know the former.
Its hard to sngle down all those things, With the exception of the Eiffle Tower all those are very old. I do think Mesa Verde should be on the list though, probably more so than the Eiffle Tower.

Therefore the Acropolis should win.</div>errr, what?Who made the Acropolis then? It's a good idea but there certainly should have been some modern structures in there. Statue of Liberty, whilst a symbol known the World over, doesn't deserve to be there. It isn't considered one of the most amazing wonders of the world, maybe if it was 4/5 times as big, but its relatively small.

The Eiffel tower is certainly not ancient. Also, are you saying the Statue of Liberty is 250 years old? It was finally finished in 1886 so a lot more recent than you think.
