Today there was talk on ESPN that the Niners are one of the several teams inquirin about makin a deal for the 2nd overall pick (One analyst said the Niners have to most ammo out of the teams to move up to it) which they would use to draft Calvin Johnson if the Raiders dont choose him. I didnt see it myself but its all over Niner MBs. The Lions are desperately lookin to trade out of it and have been rumored to really like Patrick Willis. So I think if the Niners to trade for Calvin it would be for Willis (11th overall), a 2nd, 3rd, maybe future picks, and maybe Smiley or Kwame Harris. That would be a dream for many Niner fans. But the more realistic situation will be stayin at #11 to draft Willis for oursevles and trade back into Round 1 for an impact WR (Bowe or Meachem). Many clues lead to that if we stay at 11 the Niners will draft Willis (John Clayton). But Jamaal Anderson is also a strong possibility if he lasts that long. Word is the Niners will not break Alan Branch's fall either. But as of today the front-runner for our #11 is Patrick Willis with Jamaal Anderson and maybe even Carriker close behind. And maybe we'll hear more about the Niners and the #2 overall pick.

I expect the 49ers to take Willis. Although I could see the 49ers Packaging Picks to move back up in the First Round for a Ginn, Bowe, or Jarrett.

My prediction is we get an Eli Manning situation on our hands where the Lions would select Calvin Johnson and then hold him ransom pinning the Buccaneers, 49ers, and whoever else is interested against each other.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (PFT)</div><div class='quotemain'>POSTED 10:46 p.m. EDT; UPDATED 11:15 p.m. EDT, April 24, 2007NINERS NOT TALKING TO LIONSA league source tells us that, despite published reports suggesting that the 49ers are the latest team to talk to the Lions about a trade for the No. 2 overall pick, there are and have been no discussions between these two teams. And, frankly, we're beginning to suspect that the Lions are wrapping their arms around any and all rumors regarding teams who might want to trade up to No. 2 because the Lions are desperate to move out of that spot, pick up more picks, and pay one of the guys they want a lower contract.Talking with the Bucs? "Yeah, we're talking to the Bucs."How about the Redskins? "Yeah, we're talking to the Redskins."Cardinals? "Yeah, we're talking to the Cardinals, too."Argonauts? "Yeah, them too."Hey, we're not knocking the Lions for trying to create a market for the pick. But we think the truth is that there isn't nearly as much interest in the pick as previously believed.Once the Raiders pick someone other that Calvin Johnson, however, all of that could change. Our guess? The Falcons will end up making a deal and getting Johnson.</div>

Shefter's reported the 49ers are in love with Willis and we will draft him at #11, and he isnt there then it will be Meachem. But fuck that we should get both of them and its a bigger possibility than gettin Calvin.#11. Willis#21. Meachem (From Broncos for G Smiley, #42, and a 4th)[IMG]

The guy isn't particularly big or strong, his quickness makes him a good fit as a pass block specialist, or which would be a Left-Tackle type role traditionally. In your Right Tackle you usually want the mauler in the run game.

He was projected to go 20 or 21 in alot of mocks and many experts had him higher than #28 in their rankins. Basically we just spent a 2nd on him after our trade with Indy.
