Kitna woud be holding clipboard in SF, Niners beat Lions 45-31</div> I think it is going to be lower-scoring than that one....Although I do agree that Smith is the better QB, I think that the defense has shown SOME improvement and can step it up and play well against the Lions...It's going to be a good one to watch..I can't wait to see if Smith can pad some stats for the season...

The Detroit Lions have shown steady offensive improvement. Jon Kitna is the fifth-rated quarterback in the league. Expect Kitna to use all of his offensive weapons, spreading the ball around to big play receiver Roy Williams, Mike Furrey and Kevin Jones out of the backfield, as well as including the tight ends, forcing San Francisco to defend the entire field. Martz must not get pass happy as he tends to do in his play calling. He must work to have great balance with Kevin Jones in the run game to control the pace of the game, setting up the explosive passing attack. Alex Smith- 1525 yards 9 TDs 7 Ints 79.7 QB rating 59.4 completion % Jon Kitna- 2174 yards 10 TDs 10 INTs 82.5 QB rating 63.2 completion % so according to the stats Kitna can be considered slightly better, but its pretty even so i wouldnt call either one of them better

I just hope we cna get the damn win..
