The 49ers’ first practice of training camp is Thursday, but eight injured players will make their debut a bit later. Today, the team placed running back Kendall Hunter (Achilles), wide receiver Mario Manningham (knee), wide receiver Kyle Williams (knee) and linebacker Darius Fleming (knee) on the active/physically unable to perform list. They also placed four rookies who sustained injuries prior to the draft on the active/non-football injury list. Those players are: defensive end Tank Carradine (knee), defensive tackle Quinton Dial (toe), running back Marcus Lattimore (knee) and offensive tackle Luke Marquardt (foot). The players count against the 90-man roster limit and can be activated once they pass a physical examination. They are eligible to play in the regular-season opener, provided they are activated prior to the final cuts of training camp. If they aren’t medically cleared when the regular season starts, they could be placed on the reserve/PUP list and would miss the first six weeks of the season. - See more at: http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2013/07/20/49ers-place-eight-players-on-injured-lists/
