The Nets have 9 games left and are 5 wins away from a 50 win season...Do you guys feel the Nets can pull it out? The way they been playing defintely says they can, but after our last 10 game winning streak we went 3-9. Granted that was a long road trip at places like San Antonio, Dallas, Memphis, and Utah, but I wouldn't rule it out that we might finish just short. I certainly do not want to jinx the team, but I think 50 wins is easily attainable. Looking at the last 9 games, I only am uneasy at: Cleveland (though its at home) Playing at Chicago (our last game was atrocious) Playing at Boston (Boston has been a surge lately and PP always plays his best against us) Even if we fall at those games and win the others, we'll still be 51 wins..So I guess all is good. If we win 50 games, what do you think that means to the team? Does it give Frank coach of the year consideration? VC or JKidd MVP consideration? Nenad Krstic for MIP consideration? I'm pretty much settled that VC or Kidd probably won't make 1st team All NBA cause it'll have to go to Nash and Kobe or 2nd team honors because of Billups and Dwayne Wade. Hopefully 3rd team, but other contenders include Paul Pierce, Tony Parker, Allen Iverson, all who are having the best season of their careers. Moreover, being settled that VC or Kidd won't make 1st team also means they won't get the MVP. Other than awards, I believe it'll be the best season for the Nets since Kidd got here in '02.. Possibly better if they finish with more than 52 wins. But the East is more competitive now than then..Does a 50 win season mean much more now than it did then? Any other thoughts?
