Eight Las Vegas pitchers held the Tribe to two runs, while Craig Stansberry and Al Quintana combined to go 3-for-6 with two runs and three RBI to lead the 51's past the Indianapolis Indians 5-2 on Tuesday, March 15 at the Englebert Complex in Dunedin, Fla. After tossing two scoreless frames to begin the contest, Tribe starter Rudy Owens (3.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO) surrendered two runs in the bottom of the third and went on to suffer the loss. Las Vegas LHP Luis Perez earned the victory with an inning of scoreless work, while RHP Vince Perkins tossed a scoreless ninth to earn the save. The Indians jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage when CF Gorkys Hernandez, SS Chase d'Arnaud and 1B Matt Hague led off the game with back-to-back-to-back base hits that eventually saw Hernandez come plateward on Hague's base knock. However, Las Vegas would take the lead back for good with two tallies in the third, when OF Adam Loewen brought Stansberry plateward with a sacrifice fly and INF Ryan Shealy scored on a base knock by OF Danny Perales. The 51's then tacked on some insurance runs in the seventh as Stansberry singled home INF Scott Campbell before eventually scoring on a two-run double off the bat of Quintana.
