Now that the Blazers have shown they can beat mediocre to bad teams that included some of the worst defensive teams in the association the past eight games...now let's see what they can do the next eight games which include playing six of the top 10 defenses in the NBA (per John Schuhmann @ NBA.com). Can Damian continue to sustain his torrid play over the last 6 games averaging almost 30 points and shooting above 60% & can CJ continue his exceptional three-point efficiency and his mid-range mastery? Will Ed also be that surprising offensive spark off the bench he has been these past several games?...And will the bench also continue to find a player or two that steps up and makes meaningful plays when needed most? Is the Blazers offense really clicking on all cylinders and is it in a sustainable high gear that will stand the test of much better teams? Well, we are about to find out and these next 8 games should give everyone a more clear picture of where this Blazer team really stands...Go Blazers!
Worth mentioning that we are also a top 10 defense in the NBA...I'd rather face these teams now than a month ago...Go Blazers!
Yes...I would agree that good thing now than a month ago...and yes, Blazers defense has been good...These next several games will be a good test for both the offense and defense of the Blazers! I hope they ace that test!
What are you using to determine top 10 defensively? In this 8 game run we play Utah twice, Sacramento, Charlotte and Detroit. NBA.com doesn't have those teams in the top 10 defensively. Essentially, 3 out of 8 games are against top 10 defensive teams.
Well if this 1st quarter is any indication, that winning streak against bad teams or decent teams missing players doesn't mean a whole lot.
Please read the post before...as I said, that is an article on ESPN.com by John Schuhmann...so, if you need clarification he would be the one to ask..
Well is it ESPN. com or NBA.com? The first post said NBA.com thus the reason I said according to NBA.com that info is inaccurate. You said it both ways. Regardless, on NBA.com they only have 3 teams ranked in the top 10 defensively that we play in the next 8 games so the info was inaccurate
My original post was correct, an article by John Schuhmann on NBA.com. Week 16 power rankings (this past week) where the Blazers are ranked 11. Again, he did not breakdown what teams or why those teams are the top 10 defensively, but that is what he said...So, maybe he can tell you what he used to determine that stat if it is important to you, because IDK...I am just the messenger and didn't write the article...Besides, my point was really that the Blazers will be truly tested against much better teams during the next several games, as indicated by their performance tonight...
A complete ass kickin...Blazers played very little defense and the Raptors were on fire...not a good combo!..on to the next one..Go Blazers!
Raptors showed the Blazers the difference between a top tier team in the league and a middle of the road playoff team. It showed the Blazers where they need to get to. That wasn't even really a game. Going on something like a 20-5 run and still down by 14 is a serious butt whooping.
Not sure anyone was saying they weren't for real. More like that the Blazers finally played a decent team in the last week or so. Even with 3 major rotation players out for the Celtics, Portland still couldn't beat Boston. Was just putting in perspective the recent winning streak.
