I heard on the radio this was the extension Odom and his agent are looking for. It would pay him $15M per season. He's currently making $13.5M this year and is scheduled to make $14.5 next season. I almost crashed into the car in front of me when they reported this the other day.
Wow this is crazy. If he somehow pulled through for us the next three games, I'd consider it. However, if we win and it is mostly because of Kobe/Pau/etc., **** it (nothing personal though, I know he's suffered a bit too). We'll have to see, I don't think any of the guys are thinking about this right now though.
Is this source reliable? No way in hell Lamar's going to get that type of money. What is this man thinking? I always knew he wasn't too bright, but this is just ridiculous. No way will we be paying our third, probably fourth option franchise type money, and given the way Lamar's been playing this series, it makes it all the more comical. No team is going to give him such an offer. I was thinking maybe 10 million at most, but I guess not. Lamar has to realize teams are starting to get more careful about spending. Look at guys like Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Emeka Okafor, and Andre Iguoala last offseason. Nobody is stupid enough to offer Lamar that much
No. Chance. In. Hell. He doesn't deserve it, unless by some miracle he plays the three best games of his life and leads us to an NBA title.
Yeah, he'll probably get it after next season though. We'll see how he plays after the injury and if he has the ability to play most of the season If Lamar really is asking for that much, first of all, nobody is going to give him that much money, but we can always sign and trade him somewhere for a traditional small forward
Who the **** does he think he is? An all-star. Trying showing up when it counts, Lamar. Then maybe you'll be worth $10 million/year.
There is no way in hell we can keep Odom, Kobe and Gasol while resigning Bynum, Sasha and Turiaf to what they deserve... Please Mitch!!! Make Kobe and Odom take a paycut!!! Odom for 9M a year!!! If he doesnt accept then... Odom for Prince! or for Artest!
I find this funny cuz, "Big-Shot Bob" Horry has proven time and time again he's worth alot when it counts, yet he's only making 3.6 this year....lol. I smell another pot of Sprewell cookin'...lol...I wouldn't give him 10 mil a year let alone 15! He hasn't proven that he's worth that...he just wants to cash in since he's 28 now and this could be his last chance at a fat contract and the "upside" potential wears off
I could see him making 15 mill per year if he was a teams #1 option or #2 option, and was the primary playmaker. But on the lakers he is somewhere between #3 and #4 depending on how Bynum recovers.

Pretty much in agreement with everyone else, with his ability to vanish for long periods, and entire games at a time he is no where near 15 million a year. You pay that to someone who proves night in and night out that they are among the best, Lamar Odom doesn't do that. Who on this planet, besides Isaih Thomas would pay him this kind of money?
I bet if he was still on Miami and was the number 2 option behind Wade, or number 1 when Wade was hurt he`d probably get that contract. If he was on the Suns instead of Marion, guys like Diaw got 9 mill, Marion got like 17 mill, I wouldn`t be surprized if Odom could have gotten a 15 mill contract. Obviously New York would pay anyone. Orlando paid 120 mill to land Rashard Lewis, had Odom been around in free agency and they did not get Rashard I would not be surprized if they offered him big bucks. He is a much better rebounder, a better passer, a better low-post player. Even if they gave Odom 90 mill, the 30 mill they saved they could take on some extra salary (like 30 mill) to get a better shooting guard.
