By beating Washington for the second time in four nights, this time in a totally different fashion than Saturday's overtime victory, the Nets sit just two games behind the struggling, depleted Wizards in the race for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Nets pulled out the 96-92 win Tuesday night at Verizon Center by doing some things they've struggled with all season. They made stops late -- they held Washington without a field goal for the last 3:27 -- and outscored the Wizards, 12-3, over the final 1:26.

Do any of you guys think that getting the 6th seed is a possibility right now? The Wizards have lost their two main stars and have lost 5 straight. They have a fairly easy schedule, but I don't know how easy it will be with the way the have been playing. We are only two games back of them and if you look at the schedules and predict the win loss record it is possible to get the 6th seed.

Nets:
@ Cavs: W(optimistic)
vs Knicks: W
@ Pacers: W
@ Knicks: W
vs Bulls: L
Record: 41-41

Wizards:
@ Heat: L
@ Hawks: W
vs Bulls: L
vs Magic: L
@ Pacers: L
Record: 40-42

I think we will get the 6th seed and play the Raptors in the first round. What do you guys think?

I think the 6th seed is for us to lose. And I have a feeling we might. Even with back to back victories, I'm still not convinced that the Nets are finally getting their grip. Fact is, we won against a depleted Wizards team. And both games could have easily gone the other way. I don't see us beating the Cavs and I wouldn't be putting my money against the last 4 opponents. The only thing this season that has been sure for this team is being inconsistent.

If they do get the 6th spot. They will most likley play the Raptors. How Ironic will it be if the Nets lose to the raptors off a missed game winner by Carter.

I hope you beat the Cavs tomorrow. Want our #2 seed stronger.

I want the 6th seed, but despite the recent losing streak the Wizards have been playing great basketball. They're missing a game closer, but each of their games have been close. It'll be tough but lets just focus on winning today's game cause it could be a first round matchup.

I don't know about Chicago. Although the Nets won 2 of 3, the Nets fell behind big in all 3 games. They seem to have the Nets number, and they found a way to hold on the last game. Chicago is a dangerous team right now.
