Why are we rooting for the team to push for the 6th seed? If we get to the 6th seed, we will be playing the Suns in the first round with a fresh Amare Stoudamire. As things currently stand, 7th spot is the best because we will play the Mavs in the first round. San Antonio have the easier schedule as they have seven matches(five in a row closing the season) against no playoff teams in their remaining fixtures compared to the five non playoff teams Dallas are playing. The Suns won't catch the Mavs for the seventh spot, so as far as I'm concerned, the 7th spot is the best spot for us.
This is the second time I have seen somebody post this. Phoenix is NOT the 3rd seed. Denver is. I think Laker fans would rather face Denver than Dallas or San Antonio.
We would play Denver if we were the #6 seed...that's the most winnable series for us....that's why we all want the 6th seed.

Well the Lakers play the Suns two more times before the season ends. The first two times, the Lakers had to face them off a back to back. The Suns are one of the worst teams to face when your legs aren't fresh. The Lakers are playing a lot better on the defensive end, so I'm looking forward to see how they handle Phoenix. It's going to be a good barometer and what the team needs to work on incase they face Phoenix in the 1st round.
