£70m When we sell Nasri, that is our three-year transfer surplus. It includes unspent leftovers from the Toure and Adebayor deals and money from the Fabregas and Clichy sales. It takes into account money spent on players coming in. That includes no money at all from the board. Just transfer surplus. So this is the bare minimum Arsene has at his disposal. In reality the team should be ponying up another £30m to avoid having us collapse into the middle of the table, but I'm being as realistic as possible here. The next eleven days will show whether we have aspirations as a club or not. Either we're going to be a farm team for the rich clubs, who allow us to grow and harvest young talent to be sold to them when ripe, or we're going to have a go at it. It would seem we have enough teenagers at the moment.
Seems we've missed out on Mata, who seems likely to join Chelsea. However a new report claims Per Mertesacker is available for under £10m, which is a bargain, especially if we can work a Bendtner swap into the deal (WB like him). Might get him for a firm handshake. Mertesacker and Vermaelen would be the best in-air central tandem in the EPL. Another player is Eden Hazard who can reportedly be had for about £24m. A replacement for Nasri. Also some word out that we're looking at grabbing Arteta from Everton. Not exactly a piece for the future but a good player. Ugh, just do something, please.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made bids of £15m and more than £20m respectively for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila and Lille forward Eden Hazard. The Frenchman may also return to Everton with a fresh approach for defender Phil Jagielka. GOOD GO GET EM The Gunners are reportedly offering striker Nicklas Bendtner to Werder Bremen in a swap deal for experienced centre back Per Mertesacker. YES GO GET EM Arsenal are set to open talks with Lazio striker Mauro Zarate and hope to have the Argentine in the squad in time for the weekend's match against Manchester United. GET EM Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has warned Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger that he will abandon his pursuit of Samir Nasri if the midfielder plays against Udinese on Wednesday. Orly?
According to TFN, the board is willing to let Wenger buy players for in excess of £20m, however, they don't want to pay for players who command wages £100,000/week and more, which is what the top players command. They are pressuring Wenger to look at cheaper guys like Cahill and Dann, who Wenger isn't interested in. If the article is even close to the truth- troubling.
Officially linked with Hazard. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14623622.stm We'll be making bids for Hazard and M'Vila once we quality for the Champion's League. That is what several of our deals on-hold for. Also, we are in talks with an unnamed Villarreal player.
The short-haired dyke is on his way out. Hazard is lined up as a replacement. That's one hell of a replacement, if you ask me.
