Somewhat healthy. Back 8 games or so from an ACL. But I think I would cut Montero for him. I am a sucker for a 6'5" PG to go with Dame and CJ. Not sure about his athleticism after the surgery, but he was intriguing before, even with his poor outside shot.
If you ask me it's kind of sketch that he's the one they cut for Ish Smith. I would have thought they would cut McConnell. I wonder if they are worried about Wrotens injury affecting his long term. I mentioned his name during the off season. I still like his game but I'm not sure I'd put him over Frazier if I'm being honest.
Would be nice to wake up and see Wroten under the Blazer Christmas tree. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
I'd feel bad for Tim Frazier, but if Wroten is healthy enough to play, he's superior to Frazier in every way. Wroten's liability is that he can't shoot, but Frazier doesn't even look to shoot; at least defenses have to respect that when Wroten drives toward the rim he might look to score. If this were a decision being made purely on ability, it would be a no-brainer.
cut from the 1-30 76ers..... jebus that must be a blow to the ego, or a blessing to be free. still, fuck...
well, at least Colangelo is in there making some changes, the traded for Ish Smith with the newly freed up roster spot. itll be interesting to see the back story on all this. from the twitterverse "Wanna thank the whole philly community, coaching staff, and all my teammates. Enjoyed my time in philly. Going to miss my guys. But……. Will show them what mistake they’ve made." sic
Wroten's PERs the last 2 years were 13 and 15, but this season it's 2.5. The Pelicans preferred 2 2nd-round picks for Ish Smith instead of taking Wroten, who was drafted at #25.
Looking at the Pelicans this season, that might be more an indictment of them than him. And the fact that Wroten is kind of redundant to them ... he's Jrue Holiday without the outside shot. Wroten's a lottery ticket. A team can pick him up on the cheap and see if he finds a spot. Low risk, moderate reward. He's not Chauncey Billups, obviously, but that's a guy I often recall in stories like this. Dude went through four teams in five years and suddenly became a star in Detroit.
Frazier seems like a nice guy, but his ceiling is end of the bench insurance on a bad team. In Wroten, you've got the tall, defensive-minded guard this team desperately needs. If he's remotely healthy, it's a no-brainer.
