I was up front at the Slayer-Wermacht show years and years and years ago. The crowd kept knocking stuff around, and for most of the show I was repositioning monitors, catching and restanding microphone stands, plugging in unplugged cords. With two or three songs to go, I climbed up on stage with designs on a stage dive, but I kind of lost my balance and landed on my ass on the front of the stage. One of the roadies started to come throw me off the stage, but another roadie stopped him when I pointed to the stage and mouthed "can I stay right here?" They both nodded, so there I sat. I could (but didn't) reach out without leaning and touch Tom Araya's right elbow, and I could (but didn't) lean over to my left and touch the end of Jeff Hanneman's guitar. I could (but didn't) spit and hit Dave Lombardo over his drum kit. I sat there, indian style, for the last couple of songs. When the show was over, Araya, Hanneman, and Kerry King, along with two or three roadies/security guys, made it a point to come over and high-five me for helping.

most people dont....you would still be amazed by a Slayer concert and the crowd feeding off of it...

I converted a hippie friend of mine to a metal head by taking him to a Pantera/Slayer show....I lost him when the show started...i found him later with his shirt off going bat shit crazy in the mosh pit screaming how awesome it was...almost brought a tear to my eye.

I take my friends kicking and screaming to (good)metal shows...they thank me when we leave
