The kid is so fun and talented to watch, and a good human being to boot. A fun vid below. It made me wonder if Durant could run the point. LOL. Statistically, Durant's career assist avg (3.0) is above Roy's last season. Andre Miller's 09-10 season assist avg was 5.4 - or just 1.4 more assists per game. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...t-goes-all-Kevin-Durant-on-Ruc?urn=nba-wp7074
I started this thread/thought as a bit tongue-in-cheek, then started to actually look at his 3pt % (equal to Roy) and his turnover %. Then I googled him as PG and found following: Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman: Against Miami on Friday, Durant played all five positions. He started at his customary small forward spot, ran point guard late in the first quarter and slid to power forward midway through the second quarter. “Kevin’s game is evolving,” said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. “He, like a lot of our guys, is not a finished product. He’s going to keep getting better. And there’s ways that I’m going to challenge him to get better… He has the ability to do a lot of things for us and do them well.” It was the minutes Durant played at point guard and power forward that stood out most. At 6-10, Durant is by far the league’s tallest provisional point guard. His size allows him to see over the defense and read and react to whatever is thrown his way. And by initiating the offense, Durant nearly becomes unstoppable because of his shooting ability and improving playmaking skills. He had only one assist against the Heat, but Durant beat LeBron James off the dribble on several possessions, working his way into the lane where he created the option to either finish himself or dump off passes to cutting teammates. http://www.hardwoodparoxysm.com/2010/10/12/five-conversations-about-one-thing/
I know your kind. You're trying to make us feel bad for taking Oden. Others may fall for your tricks, but I can see RIGHT THROUGH you, Mister.
Not really feeling your math skills. Durant is a HOF player and we get to enjoy watching him drop 25+ a night for the next decade.
Nah, not an Oden vs Durant thread. I do like the Blazers more than I despise the decision to bring Oden to P-town. I really just enjoy great hoops and a player like Durant. A 6'10" PG. Freak. I would have LOVED to see what a Durant/Prez/LA front could accomplish.
...this should make viewing much easier!
Btw, the summer Roy was drafted he played @ Rucker Park and dominated. The NYC crowed apparently were chanting "rookie of the year" during that game.
30 pts? His defense needs serious work. At least we got a defensive force in Oden. Oh, wait. Not going there!
