steve smith is being sued by anthony bright for an incident that happened in 2002...the team was watching film, and bright asked if the play could be shown again...smith felt as tho bright was pointing out a mistake that smith had made and put a major beat down on him...he busted brights eye socket and essentially ended his panther career right there...my feelings are as follows, smith should settle out of court for more than bright is asking, and pay enough to allow bright to continue in arena football without having to worry about financial issues...in all the news reports i read when this happened, smith was completely in the wrong, and he did something to a teammate that requires extreme retribution...if steve smith was a stand up guy, which i sometimes wonder if he is, he would right this grievous wrong...i know he is young and still has maturity issues to deal with, but this would go a long way in growing up

I'm getting sick of hearing about punks like Steve Smith and Bill Romanowski ending teammate's careers because they can't act like adults. I think Smith and Romanowski should be banned from the NFL. Smith and Romanowski are criminals and an embarrassment to the league. Actually, they should be in jail.

I don't think Smith should be banned, I just think he should have to forfeit 50% of his paycheck to Bright. Maybe even 75%.... that would teach him to control his temper.... if he continues to act like that, press charges, put him in jail. I can't believe the rest of the team let Smith wail on Bright like that.... shameful.

i so agree there is only one thing in the NFL that pisses me off more and thats the drug program. These punks can get caught drinking and driving twice and shooting up heroin or whatever 2 times and not even get time!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't it Michael Westbrook who attacked Stephen Davis in camp one year? My how the tides have turned.

sports is the one way u can get away with murder, literally.

look at todd bertuzzi, yea thats more serious and was in a game, but if they were in a bar, steve smith would be arrested. You think football would have the most disciplined players and wouldnt do things like this, but they do and thats a shame.
