I'm surprised that Doug Collins hasn't been mentioned. Doug is very knowledgeable of the game and the characteristics of the opposing coach with their tendencies and trickery. Doug has coached Jordan twice (though the second time is forgettable) and Jordan gives him his nod of approval meaning Doug knows what he's talking about.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting briang8818:</div><div class="quote_post">Both times coaching jordan were rather forgettable</div> The first time wasn't as bad because Jordan was coming into his own then. Not like recently when others felt the legacy was becoming ruined.
There is a reason why me or anyone has not mentioned Doug Collins. He is not interested in being a head coach. I think he had enough of that experience. He mentioned that after the Wizards fired him couple of years ago. He also mentioned during the playoffs last year about how he is glad he is not in the sidelines dealing with all the playoff stress. Considering how players tune coaches out after one year nowadays, I don't think he would want to get back into the coaching fray and deal with the stress. I think he has a cushy cushion doing games on TNT once a week and he seems to enjoy that.
