after listening to oshleys postdraft comments...it sounds like there is no moving lamarcus. he is going to be here next year I think there is little doubt now. with cj(who I think very highy of) coming in as a 6th man we rap that up now. it sounds like gortat is available and possibly asik. if either of those guys land here and we get a couple stable guys off the bench plus damian and nic improving, this is LA's team to move to the second round. put your money where your mouth is and take this team to the second round. I know this is speculation considering we don't know what will happen in free agency BUT if olshey gives you a decent to good team....he should be able to take this team to the second round especially with lillard most likely carrying the team for most of the season next year. STEP.UP. if you think you deserve to play in Chicago than show everyone why
I like what one writer wrote. Basically, you trade LMA for 1 of 4 or so guys: Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Brook Lopez, forgot the last one. Olshey has 2 years to whisper in other GMs ears or making LMA happy.
Yup. Now with twice the Damian Lillards, we've got plenty of fire power. It's on LMA to show that he can do all the little things, that the great players do, to will this team to wins. Show us some toughness, show some intelligence, play basketball instead of horse.
Kobe wanted to get traded at one time too. I am okay with trading LMA if it makes sense. He only has 2 years left on his contract. But, we are not obligated to do it this summer. I just hope he doesn't screw us like Rudy did.
If we had taken a multi year project like Steven Adler I'd be open to trading LaMarcus. But I agree as the team is now constructed we are only an adequate center and a few bench players away from being an intriguing playoff team. I'd rather rent LaMarcus for the next two seasons and let him walk at the end if either side wants to part ways.
I think we will try Aldridge for at least the beginning of the season. I think winning cures all. If we hit slumps; I don't think Aldridge will be happy. Then olshey can move him before the trade deadline. What I really think we should do is take a chance on Bynum. 3 year deal with the third being a team option. If it fails; we will can rid ourselves of both Aldridge and Bynum after year 2.
here's one way to look at it from another board: "From Discovery on the Blazers Club forum Anyway we were told to not to expect LaMarcus to be traded today, that nothing could get done today as it could be a three team trade. But teams like Lakers and Clippers have talked to Olshey about LaMarcus. Also, Olshey may wait for who gets Dwight Howard as both Houston and Dallas would like LaMarcus if either team doesn't get LaMarcus. Rice and Antonio think LaMarcus will be gone before the season, because the Blazers don't want to go into fall camp with this drama. We were hearing from a couple of people who say they know friends of LaMarcus. That LaMarcus thanked and said goodbye to a business owner and said he wasn't coming back. Another person said LaMarcus expects to be traded soon and has already packed up his stuff and moved away from Portland."
