<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> "A lot of people thought I was crazy, but I just knew he was going to do this," says James McBride, Wallace's oldest brother.

McBride, the 53-year-old pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church in nearby Centreville, Ala., accompanied Ben when he attended Oakley's camp and countless summer tournaments.

"Ben was so focused and determined," McBride says. "He didn't want to wind up like some other people with talent who didn't achieve their goals. At these tournaments, guys would be clowning around. Some would even drink or do drugs after playing.

"Ben would sit up in the bleachers when he wasn't playing, watching other teams and trying to master the game."</div>

I saw in junior college he averaged like 27 points per game, but then we he went to Virginia Union he went down to like 10 or something, I forgot. But, he has a ton of brothers and sisters right?

Ben grew up as one out of eleven children in his family, and in a poor part of Alabama like the article above mentioned. His brother was a huge part in keeping Ben Wallace’s head on straight drugs and drinking where a regular part of live in the town Ben grew up in. I have nothing, but respect for Ben Wallace he has always been one of my favorite players even during his time in Detroit. Many people forget this, but from 03-05 he averaged nearly ten points a game for the Pistons. Therefore, his offensive game although bad did exist at some point. I cannot wait to see Big Ben in a Bulls uniform next season. I am going to be ordering my Ben Wallace jersey as soon as possible.
