Deadline reports that ABC is developing the comedy series, written by Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley (Happy Endings, Scrubs) for Universal TV. Like the film, the series will focus on a child-like man (played by John Candy in the 1989 original) who learns life lessons after looking after his brother's children. "But...why?" Uncle Buck has been a TV series before. It ran on CBS with Kevin Meaney as Buck in 1990 for one season.
