http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0909/stossel091609.php3 This move is a huge blow for a contrarian view on network TV. Like him or not, he was always intellectually honest and challenged status quo thinking. I think it's bad for news outlets in general when they become more ideological and less balanced. I don't like all the conservatives/libertarians gathering at FOX, all the people on the far left gathering at msnbc, with the rest of the comfortable left happily settled elsewhere. I don't watch much cable news programming (I used to love Hardball, but can't stomach it now), but I'll make sure I watch John Stossel's new show. Hopefully he's allowed to keep his unique and independent voice.
Never heard of him, but it's a shame he has to leave to cable to be able to actually report news. Kind of says what I'm sure many have just assumed for years about the quality of the news in America. Also sad that going to Fox news, he will now be discredited by a wide range of the population for the station he is on. I might not be a fan of Fox news eitther, but here's hoping they allow him to report the way it sounds like he had been, instead of doing"something on diet or breast implants — something we know people will watch" which is generally what the news has become. Not a vehicle for getting information to the masses, but another half hour program on television, serving what purpose I am no longer sure.
The Confederacy lost the Civil War quite a few years ago. Renaming themselves "Libertarians" doesn't change their selfish anti-American ideology. Good to have all the enemies of the state on one network.
He's a good reporter. Like almost all reporters, he carries a bias so I take him with a grain of salt.
