Just saw interview on the fan with francessa and doctor ( I forget name) who is head of orthopedics at hackensack hospital. He said A-rod cae to him with his mri for 2nd opinion and after studying it said there was nothing wrong with a-rods quad which most of us suspected anyway (LOL). Hard to see how yanks will be able to do anything but play A-rod friday when he comes off the fake minor league 7 day dl. Hard to root for either side as I hate A-rod and yankee management(cashman and the silver spoon bros.) running the yanks.

Ready for some drama? Dr. Michael Gross, head of sports medicine at Hackensack and the doctor behind A-Rod‘s second opinion, just said during an interview with Mike Francesa on WFAN that Rodriguez is not injured. Gross said that A-Rod has no pain and also noted that A-Rod thinks he could play tonight if the Yanks so chose. Gross performed an MRI earlier and apparently had authority from Rodriguez to discuss the results on the air. “To be perfectly honest, I don’t see any injury there,” Gross said while acknowledging that a slight Grade 1 strain may not appear on an MRI.
The Yanks haven’t said anything yet, but they can’t be pleased. The team cut A-Rod’s rehab short this weekend when a quad injury occurred, but many reports, based on anonymous sources, described A-Rod’s unhappiness with the decision. Now, with Gross’ public comments, A-Rod is forcing the issue. If he could play right now and the team is holding him back over the looming Biogenesis suspension, I think he’s completely in the right for allowing his doctor to speak publicly on the FAN. I’m sure we’ll hear more over the next few hours. (Additional reporting by Benjamin Kabak)

Lay down with dogs and you get fleas comes to mind. Arod and the Yankees are both losing all my respect. As an organization, they are responsible for this mess, Arod is Arod, they knew that when they re-signed him. As we all know, it's about the money now, not the best interest of baseball clause that I am sure that Bud Selig will use to finally end Arods career.

I realize how we all feel about Arod. His suspension for PED use is between him and baseball. It will play out one way or another very soon. Arod is certainly not going to win a popularity contest with any of us.

That being said the way this organization has decided to treat this situation is disgraceful.

There's just no reason for him to bother, the suspension or ban is coming very soon so why play? NY is doing the right thing by faking the injury to keep him away, it makes no sense to come back and then get suspended, sure he can appeal but that won't work, obviously they have a ton of evidence if Braun buckled, I guess Arod is just desperately trying to look innocent but it's futile at this point, the smackdown is very near.

He should make a deal which would carry a 150 game suspension and be done with this already.

Messiah, once again I agree with you. I find this totally discusting because we all know this is about money. Arod is Arod, but the NYY Baseball Club is acting like they are on Jerry Springer with the handling of this cat and mouse game. Arod is a fraud. The Yankees should suspend him pending an on going investigation by MLB and potential Civil and Criminal charges. Let Arod sue you, he would then have the burden of proof that he is clean and telling the truth. But for what it is worth, the Organization should be ashamed of themselves for their actions this year both on and off the field.

I don't think that MLB has that on the table, they want more and are acting like they have the evidence to proof it.

I think a huge issue is if they have proof that he attempted to purchase and or destroy evidence. The bottom line though is they already got Braun. Take out Arod for the remainder of this season and for most if not all of next season and be done with it.

...pretty confident that they do indeed have that evidence.

...but here's the thing, what I cannot believe is that this POS has absolutely NO idea of how he'll be received by the fans if/when he returns. He'll be booed unmercifully in NY. He'd be much better off taking the suspension, staying out of the limelight for awhile, get into shape, and then go from there.

...again, he either can't fathom what's surely in store for him or he simply doesn't care.

I'm surprised A-rod is taking this route as he knows suspension is imminent. He can't be that obtuse(maybe he can) to think he will rush back and somehow be loved by the fans on his return. Since his minor league at bats indicate he will suck even worse at the major league level future embarrassment and scorn from the fans seems to be almost a given. If he doesn't play and can later claim(his minor league numbers would seem to back him up) that he is unable to continue due to disability he will be paid by insurance 80% plus the yankees 20% of his salary minus whatever time is lost for whatever length the suspension turns out to be. Outside of the lifetime ban which eliminates all his money insurance or not the most I see him getting is the rest of this year and next year. A-rods best game plan to me is plea bargaining the suspension down to whatever he can and taking the rest of his money and go buy an island somewhere.

I don't know if I would say that the Yankees are "doing the right thing" in faking the injury... but what else could they do?

I don't think MLBPA would allow the NY Yankees to suspend him... I think they'll say either suspension or play, no in between...

I don't really put too much into the Yankees faking his injury because it was him that reported the quad issue to begin with. While there may not be much to it medically, it makes sense to be cautious with a guy coming off major surgery who hasn't played all season and is just trying to work himself back into playing condition. I doubt its much different than the Jeter situation and we all know they want him back.

I hope Cashman or someone in the front office/ownership group lights him up again over this.

I found this quote by Pete Rose. Arod should listen and take advice from this. Rose's quote "You can talk about hits and runs and championship games ... [But] I want my legacy to be [that of] somebody who came forward. If anybody has a problem here today, come forward. Don't hide it ... You can run, but you can't hide. If I can help a young kid to know what I went through, maybe I can prevent them from going through the same thing. It just seems to fit.

Thank you. Dr. Gross also later admitted that a radiologist might very well be able to spot something that he missed.

I'm sure hackensack hospital is overjoyed that their chief orthopedic guy is starting to look like soemone who needs the spotlight and might be talking off the top of his head.
