A-Rod on the fan yesterday... he stirred the pot some more... does his stupidity know no bounds??? "“Do you trust the Yankees?” Rodriguez was asked Thursday during an interview with WFAN’s Mike Francesa. A-Rod’s answer was telling. “Um. You know, I’d rather not get into that,” he responded after a long pause. “I’m just frustrated that I’m not on the field tomorrow.”" http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/07/26/a-rods-strained-relationship-with-yankees-hits-another-low/
I wonder which Yankee said this? ; “Guys are just tired of it,” an unnamed Yankees player told the New York Daily News. “The media circus that’s revolving around Alex is insane — and we haven’t even seen him. It just keeps going. It’s like a carousel that just keeps going around and around and around. At some point, it has to stop.” The fourth-place Bombers could use A-Rod in their lineup. But there’s a whole lot more than pop that comes with Rodriguez, embroiled in Major League Baseball’s latest performance-enhancing drugs scandal and reportedly convinced the Yankees are out to get him. “I would like his bat in the lineup,” the player told the Daily News. “We could obviously use it because the potential for some home runs would help us a lot. But with the circus that’s surrounding him right now, I don’t think anybody wants that.”
I think the primary issues are that fans all over will boo him big time, what team would want that? and why should they bring him up only to watch him get suspended? it's those reasons that I agree with the Yankees move to keep him injured even if he's not and why Arod should be playing ball with that plan and just shut the F up, because it seems the guy is guilty as hell, this is all his fault and NY is doing it's best to stay classy, too F'ing bad if he's not really hurt, he's as hurt as the Yankees say he is, end of story.
The Yanks have done nothing to show you they're classy. They've not only allowed the media communication but have taken a lead role (see the Cashman 'shut the F up' headlines). If George were still around this was taken care of behind closed doors and in person. The guy is in Tampa, you go down to YOUR facility and meet him and tell him how it is. As far as boo'ing, who kids a crap. Arod gives you more than what you have. Get him in the lineup and let him sink or swim. Look at what you're marching out there now. What's worse, getting boo'ed on the road or having your whole team boo'ed at home because you've become $200M cellar dwellers?
...no, the Yanx have not handled this whole thing very wisely. But ARod is the Father of this whole shitstorm and he will be booed, loudly, as he should be. ...I don't recall a whole lot of booing of the team this year, because all things considered, they've over-achieved. And they're by no means cellar dwellers...they're closer to first place than they are last place. ...and The Boss was notorious for calling out players and airing the Yanx' dirty laundry in public...he did it all the time.
George would do it behind closed doors? that's not the George I remember, he would be very vocal with the media, and George was A-OK with players on steroids as far as I'm concerned so I don't care what George would do. Cashman may have slipped, not cool, but no big deal IMO, so now they're not classy because he told the idiot to shut up? wrong. And maybe you think NY should play Arod and let the boos rain down on the team in every city, including NY, and if so I think that's a really stupid idea, he can be nowhere near this team if there is any way to stop him.
