    if its all about money, wouldn't he accept the suspension for the 1yr plus and keep the remaining $60M+ rather than risk it all?

    No, because he loses something like $37.5 million. His people realize a lifetime ban would likely never hold up. So worst case he ends up with what is being offered anyway. In a better case he gets even less in appeal. Considering suspensions to others and what Braun took Arod's lawyers are telling us that baseball is reaching here.

    I have a feeling (a good feeling, since I never want to see Arod in a Yankee uniform again) that what MLB has gathered in their case against Arod is overwhelming, and that the reason this is being dragged out is that they are lining everything up to secure the longest suspension possible. Whether that is the rest of this year and all of next year, or a lifetime ban - I do not know, but my guess is they are pushing the envelope as far as it will go.

    as I think they should... Not just A-Rod, but all those who use or have used PEDs need to be sent a clear message...
