A successful season also helps with their recruiting class ranking. The beavs typically get a lot of 2 and 3 star recruits. Hopefully with a post season bowl selection their ranking will be improved.

2013 #84, 0 4 star reruit, 5 3-star recruits (this ranking stat is not completed yet)
    2012 #39, 2 4-star recruits, 16 3-star recruits
    2011 #55, 1 4-star recruit , 15 3-star recruit.
    2010 #44, 4 4-star recruits, 12 3 star recruits.

Not sure how much I buy into the "stars". When a kid is looking at OSU he is a 2 or 3 star guy, but as soon as he considers going to USC he becomes a 4 star prospect. We've hauled in studs who made it in the NFL. Recruiting services are wrong all the time.

But yeah maybe the bowl helps. I'm glad we going to it! Might have been where we went even if we won the Civil war.

Nelson should be able to step in right away for Poyer. Nelson and Reynolds at the corners will be nice.

I wonder if the Beavers will sway more recruits since the Ducks might be sanctioned this spring for their NCAA recruiting violations.

The problem is that LOI's are signed in February. We won't be able to poach any of their guys unless the NCAA releases them from their LOI's.

Very big get! Castro and Poyer are two very big holes to fill. We have the potential to be extremely good next year.

...speaking of next year, the basketball team is going to be really good as well [especially if they grant Angus another year]!

I'm not sold on our hoops team. I think we have talent, but I'm not enamored with CRob's coaching.

New commit! Lawrence Mattison 6-1 225 lb RB from Spring Branch, TX.

...maybe he is just a stepping stone to restoring the ole glory days, but I think this current team can compete with most anyone. They just rarely seem to put it all together consistently for an entire game.

Previous scholar shipped QB Kyle Kempt with Cincinnati has now signed with the Beavers. Cinncinati Bearcats dropped his scholarship after interested into another QB. Kempt is considered a 3 star prospect by Rivals.

I'll be glad to see Dashon Hunt's name come up on the list. Seems like every year the highly ranked guys are slow to fax.

Dashon is in. Looks like everyone on the list has faxed their LOI, except for the OL player from Pago Pago. I'd sure like to see him sign -- we could use another strong lineman.
