So all the talk of comparing Roy and Drexler's statistics had me visit 82games.com, where I found an interesting rating: PER by position.

Take a look. Apparently our contribution from the SF position is the 3rd best in the league in terms of production and efficiency. We rank in the top 15 for every position, something that only Boston can claim (although teams such as the Lakers and Orlando are close). Looking at most of them, you can understand the ratings. We are good in SG because of Roy.

Of course you do see some strange ones like the PG ratings for Phoenix and Utah. But in any case, I thought it was interesting to see how our team stacks up against others on a position basis (realizing that surely Roy's numbers split between SG/SF, as do Rudy's, and Outlaw would go between the 3/4).

Our Center position is 1st in the league in FG% and Rebounds. I wouldn't have guessed that.

Well Joel has a crazy FG% right now, and since he and Oden play the center spot nearly 100% of the time, it's not hard to imagine in my opinion. I'm more surprised about SF really though, given that Outlaw's PER isn't very good.

Realize that Roy plays at least 1/3 of his minutes at the SF spot.
