    We (My Family) are at the beach. Long secluded walks on the beach together is gonna be our Thanksgiving. Not doing the extended family thing this year. Already had one giant Covid issue not chancing another.

    This year has been really tough for a lot of people so I hope that everyone here has a great Thanksgiving!

    As mentioned in another thread, tonight's dinner is just Lucia and me but tomorrow most of my usual crew is meeting, masked and outdoors, to exchange plates. So I am making close to a usual Thanksgiving dinner. Not quite; normally I'd have a vegetarian entree, two breads and at least three desserts.

    My abbreviated menu:

    Autumn salad of pears, filberts & shaved Parmesan

    Bourbon brown sugar glazed turkey (breast & wings roasted, leg/thighs confit and finished in oven)
    Bread and farro dressing
    Duchess potatoes (mashed with egg yolks and cream and baked)
    Spiced sweet potato casserole
    Braised collards with smoked turkey wings
    Corn muffins
    Cranberry orange sauce

    Pumpkin caramel tart with whipped cream
    Bourbon chocolate bread pudding with bourbon cream sauce

    Lucia will have turkey and a saucer of cream

    I was born on Thanksgiving in 1964. Every few years it lands on Thanksgiving, including this year.

    My brother will cook a small turkey breast with mashed potatoes and gravy. My mom brought over some apple and pumpkin pies yesterday when she had to come over.

    Football and turkey. It feels like Thanksgiving. :smiley-skacepokreve
