Something occured to me today...This season might be a good thing that happened. This draft is so weak that if we made the playoffs, we would get a full time bench player. If we made the playoffs, the farhest we would have gone would be second round a best and thats not our goal. We have to superstars and with the right surrounding cast we can get that championship. If we made the playoffs we would have gotten a bad draft pick which wouldnt help our situation of improving since we only have midlevel to offer in offseason. So maybe this season was a gift because in he lottery we can draft an impact player to greatly increase or scoring and defense like Rudy Gay or JJ redick. With the player we draft, hopefully he can help next year and put us over the top because obviously tmac and Yao cannot do it all in the playoffs. They need help. Im not saying that we shouldnt make the playoffs and try every year to make it, but we didnt make it so look on the bright side. Were injured and were in the best situation possible when that happens. We can get a great SG which this draft is loaded with and make the third round next year in the playoffs.
Good thinking it really is a blessing in disguise hopefully this draft for us will have the duncan effect.
I'd feel a lot better if the injuries were only a one year thing. But both Tracy's and Yao's injuries could be a recurring problem.
This season has exploited the Rocket's weakness when injury strikes someone especially your two key players. Although numerous injuries to the roster are the main reason to blame, it exposes the role players' dependency on Yao and TMac. Without those two, the team scrambles and are at lost. The rockets organization have now realized this weaknesses and with the bad experience that they had, a lot of adjustments and changes have to be made this offseason. Building a more stable lineup is a must so that when someone goes down the rest can adjust quickly just like the Mavs and Suns. Finding a gem in the draft would be difficult but if the Rockets chose wisely who knows.
You guys weren't bad enough to get a real high draft pick were you? Well....lol. As for Tmac back..thats a big problem...thats been happening since like 3 years ago...I don't see that going away..
Im banking on him playing the whole season with 15-10 missed games. He could play like last season when he playd almost everything. We have the 8th pick overall. After Lottery this draft gets bad. 8 to me is pretty high. We can fill some holes with pick number 8.
i dont think any rookie in this year draft can come in and make a differents from his first year... we need more then a rookie, we need someone like Radmanovic who is a free agent this year... he can shoot 3's, spread the floor and make it harder for other teams to double team yao and t-mac + he can play SG, SF and PF we also need a good big SG who can shoot the ball from the outside too. and before we can do any of that we need to get rid of stromile swift contact or howerd... at least one of them!!! we also need someone that can comes out of the bench and score... someone like Finley for the spurs, Stackhouse for the mavs, House for the suns, Miller for the grizzlies, etc..... you got the point!!!! yao, t-mac, alston should stay. Everyone else should be in the market

Shop everyone else since their will be a lot of nice free agents to choose from this season. I always thought Radmonovic would fit in well alongside T-Mac and Yao. Signing him would kill 2 birds with one stone, cuz we need a PF that can grab some (I say that loosely, because he is not a great rebounder, but better than Swift and Howard) rebounds, and a shooter.
I dont know about this draft being weak anymore. Many players not expected to come out are like Darius Washington Shawne Williams Daniel Gibson Shannon Brown.
