    VITALS: 6-0, 160, Oregon

OVERVIEW: Led the Pac-10 in scoring at 17.7 points and propelled Oregon to the regional final of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in six years, where it lost to eventual champion Florida. Despite his slender 160-pound frame, Brooks played big in the biggest games, scoring 25 points, including the winning 3-pointer, against then-No. 1 UCLA, and netting a game-high 27 points against Florida. Finished career fourth in assists (471) and 3-pointers (205), fifth in free-throw percentage (.834) and sixth in steals (127) on school's career list.

    LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: Second-round pick.

    COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Spud Webb

    COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Speedy Claxton

    ROLE PROJECTION: Backup point guard.

POSITIVES: Brooks can score and he can use his speed to get by his defender and get into the lane. In college, Brooks was asked to do more of the former and less of the latter, but in the NBA that order is likely to be reversed. Despite being only 160 pounds, Brooks is a tough-minded player who doesn't mind taking the punishment associated with penetrating into the lane where big bodies are waiting to hammer him. Brooks can shoot perimeter jumpers, often available to him because of his speed.
