Gotta keep the system going.
'What Are We Doing Wrong?': US Police Killed Record Number of People in 2022
"What's clear is that it's continuing to get worse, and that it's deeply systemic," said one advocate.
Fire and arrest them all. They woke those innocent people up and then shot them. They were unarmed. Then they made up a story to try and save their own asses. Good thing those people had cameras in their house or the cops would have gotten away with it.
There has to be better judgement and accountability.
The only thing I'll say after watching the video is that it's never a good idea to have something in your hand when you're dealing with the police. Never. Don't give them the excuse. They will shoot first and ask questions later.
While probably true, most people who are dealing with the police don't have time to prepare themselves. The police should be the calm and collected ones.
But they aren't. When I'm dealing with the cops I do everything in my power to remove any doubt. I turn on all the lights in my car. I put my hands on the wheel and only move them after asking permission.
I understand. Our police far too often have the wrong temperament, are ill prepared, undereducated, and don't have the proper incentives.
I'm simply saying we should demand far better from our police force.
The individuals dealing with the police are likely having a very bad day. And police shouldn't count on them being well put together. We shouldn't accept that of our police.
True. He had the flashlight in his hand. They could say they thought it was a gun, even though it obviously wasn't. I agree, It's best to not have anything in your hands.
Then again, you can't rely on the cops not to shoot you. They messed up here. The cops whole approach here was wrong from the get go.
He had the cop's camera drone they threw into his house and were monitoring. They were watching the video feed, they could see him pick it up.
Then they could see he had gotten out of bed and had no gun.
Hopefully, they win that suit. Is that sheriff and policy still in place? Terrible.
"Mr. Slypokerdog, we're aware of the photos you have saved on your computer and we know what you plan to do with them. The Blazer dancers are disgusted."
OMG. I have loads of pictures of cats with no clothes on.
They're going to come to his house at all hours and say terrible things about the Blazers to try and get him to react so they can arrest him.
Hey...... that's my job!
I don’t disagree with the sentiments of the original post.
