<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Acie Law Cancels Workout, Given Guarantee? 22nd June, 2007 - 10:53 am The Oklahoman - One day after working out for the Atlanta Hawks , Texas A&M's All-American point guard Acie Law on Thursday pulled out of his scheduled workout with the Hornets, which was to be held today at an Edmond fitness center. Law had been scheduled to work out today with a group of guards that included Florida junior point guard Taurean Green and Vanderbilt's Derrick Byars. But his sudden cancellation has lead to speculation that he has received a guarantee from the Hawks, who are in need of a point guard and hold the No. 3 and 11 picks in the June 28 NBA Draft. [READ</div>http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/466...iven_guarantee/ If so, good move by Atlanta. Makes NBADraft.net look even more foolish.
Well, this means ATL is set on one of the three bigs(Yi, Horford or Wright) cause I know they arent going to take Law at 3. People are going to think that Memphis will take Conley...but we wont, garunteed. So Conley will either go to Miwaukee or Minnesota(and dont say Minnesota wont take him, Foye is a 2 guard, NOT a point guard..which he can play, but not fulltime).
Did you listen to DX's last podcast? They had the order going....http://www.sigdomain.com/draftexpress_5.mp31. Portland - Greg Oden2. Seattle - Kevin Durant3. Atlanta - Al Horford4. Memphis - Mike Conley5. Boston - Jeff Green Atlanta is pretty set on taking Horford from most reports, I doubt Yi will be a top 6 pick.
I wouldnt be surprised to see Memphis take Yi...although I dont wanna test our luck on international players...for right now were 1 for 1, I dont wanna push it. But Conley defiently isnt coming to Memphis...I hope we trade down, pick up a solid player in a trade and pick Noah...I want his attitude, he'll bring so much that we lost with Battier, on and off the court.
Good, they should promise Law at 11. A lot of people have them taking Crittenton there, but that would be a mistake. Like Jon Givoney said, Law is the NBA-ready point guard that Atlanta needs, and he's a proven winner. Crittenton may have more potential, but he's not NBA ready and he's not the leader Acie is. And BCB, DX's podcasts are great. I've listened to them all. I don't like the host (Doug), but Givoney is the man and I love the giant amount of information he gives out. I hope we take Jeff Green. I trust Danny 100% in the draft, but I think we're the only team that would consider him this high. Green fits our style, Danny/Doc love his basketball IQ, and Doc likely favors him due to how much he has seen him (with his son playing for Georgetown, of course). 6 days.
Apparently Chad Ford has hinted that the promise is from the Clippers, which doesn't make much sense since his last workout was with ATL and seems like a smokescreen set out from Elgin Baylor and the rest...http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...2940&spln=1http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index...;CMP=ILC-INHEAD
I just heard that he may be promised.. to go 3. which would be ridiulous, but thats what the sources say.. Usually it never pans out like the sources say, but thats what happend last year - they said we'd take Shelden at 5, and we sure did..

No No.. Its legit, it's been all over the radio since around 4 this after noon.. Billy Knight has been getting flamed all day.. I don't think we'll even take Acie Law at 11, I still think were going to go with Crittenton..
Horford at #3 and Law at #11 is what I am assuming here. Not bad, but it still won't make up for their recent draft retardation. Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if they take Marcus Williams and Sean Williams at #3 and #11, it seem like their recent draft strategy is to take guys with the last name Williams even if it isn't the right pick.
The thought of any team picking Crittenton over Law just boggles my mind, I just can't understand how anyone can honestly make that choice....It's the same thing with Sean Williams being picked in the first round, it just makes absolutely no sense at all.

Their roster is full of "potentially good" players. Getting Crittenton will only prolong their rebuilding. Now about Sean Williams, it would be a crime to let this guy slip into the first round. He's got athleticism and potential, but with the negative message he's sending to teams by his lack of workouts he shouldn't be given that 'privilege' so to speak.
