He must have gotten pissed off at North Dakota. He left, went to juniors. In his first game for the WHL Calgary Hitman, he had 1 G 3 A. I like it.
Of course morons on HF think it was a bad move for him to go to juniors. I swear, the IQ of posters on HF is about 50. The best way to make the pro's is through juniors. Always has been. Not thru college. God, don't those stupid bastards know anything over there. Yes, we have players on our rosters that came from college. To me, playing without a face cage in juniors where fighting is allowed prepares you best for the AHL and NHL.
The reality is most players are totally unprepared for an 82 game, NHL schedule coming out of college. Kreider is a perfect example. His brain took several trips to the AHL before he got a clue. He caught the league by surprise in the playoffs. They adjusted. Hagelin needed AHL time. So did McDonagh. Stepan was a rare example of a guy that made the jump.
I've also been very displeased with the lack of ice time Nieves and Fogarty have gotten in college. I would urge both of them to immediately leave college and go to juniors right now if I was the Rangers. Then go to the AHL next year if they are eligible.
