Adebayor Begs Gunners For Milan Move - Allegedly <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>However, with no reliable sources quoted, this twist to the tale may be no more or less reliable than today's other big 'news' in the Ade saga: that Barcelona have agreed a deal for him. Both stories need to be seen in the context of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's terse fax to Milan reminding them that the player is not for sale - although the weight of speculation seems to suggest that the striker, for all his earlier claims to be staying at the Emirates, is having his head turned by the public courting of his services. In the absence of the next direct quote from the player himself, the speculation and unconfirmed reports will continue to fill the vacuum. The new spin on the story is that, with Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani having revealed that Adebayor is the only name on his wanted list, the striker has begged Arsenal to let him join the Rossoneri. One assumes it is not the appeal of a Uefa Cup campaign that is so compelling, so presumably we are once again talking about money and the highest bidders on the wages front. Nevertheless it remains the case that Arsenal seem determined to hang on to the 24-year-old or, to put it another way, require him to honour the contract he signed. Wenger's fax to Milan reiterated that he wasn’t for sale at any price. That, it is claimed buy unattributed sources, has prompted Adebayor to write a letter to Arsenal asking that he be allowed to leave this summer. It is also claimed in the Italian media that the Gunners have arranged an "urgent meeting" to discuss Adebayor's future, the implication being that they may be receptive at last to talking business. Quite how Barcelona might respond to that remains to be seen, with reports in Spain suggesting that the Catalan club have already prepared a £23million offer. So, fact or more fevered speculation by media friends of the two would-be buying clubs? A categorical statement about his intentions from Adebayor - ideally to camera so there can be no doubt - would be helpful at this time....</div>
Nothing to this. I also read it and dismissed it right away. If he wanted to leave he'd talk to the press but first Wenger.
1. He knows we need him badly, so he's seen as one of the "heroes" or Arsenal. 2. You can sort of tell by the way he celebrates that he wants to stay. 3. I could care less, it's rumored that Milan made a 24M bid... And in that case, I say, "Good riddance!" (Arshavin, here we come!)
