QUOTE

In beating the Clippers in Los Angeles Monday night, the Houston Rockets won their second straight after a ghastly stretch of six straight losses.
The Rockets looked sharp to start the season, winning six of their first seven before losing a close game in Memphis. The trouble really started when Tracy McGrady went down with an elbow injury in the first half against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The schedule contributed to their losing streak with the next two against the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns back-to-back without McGrady.
He returned against the Dallas Mavericks, but Coach Rick Adelman noted that McGrady wasn't quite ready - while his teammates looked to him to lead the way. While Houston will always look to Yao Ming and McGrady (now that he's fully recovered) for points, Adelman emphasized that it will take a team game for the Rockets to flourish.
Adelman also noted that he needed more from Bonzi Wells, who had lost confidence after a difficult stretch in which he shot roughly 1-12, mostly in the paint.
The Rockets' skid continued against the Miami Heat before they finally broke through with an explosive win against the Denver Nuggets (and now the Clippers).
At 8-7, the Rockets have regained their stride in time for a difficult stretch with seven of eight on the road (including the victory over the Clippers). Many predicted Houston to be a top six team. Though their record may not reflect that yet, look for them to improve as the season progresses.
As it is, Adelman admitted Monday night that they've yet to fully implement the offense he has in mind for a very talented Rockets' squad.

Source: Hoopsworld
