File this one under WTF?! Much adieu was made over Affliction's deal with Golden Boy to co-promote shows. Though they have agreed not to mix up MMA and boxing on the same cards, which at one time was the plan, they have agreed to work together to promote their various events. Or so we thought. So, when Golden Boy announced the anticipated Antonio Margarito vs. Shane Mosley fight on HBO, it must've shocked Affliction that they chose January 24th as their target date--the same night Affliction puts on its sophomore show, Day of Reckoning. Add to this the UFC's aggressive campaign to kill Affliction (they are now book-ending Affliction's show with two UFC PPV's in January and likely running an old, free PPV on SpikeTV in parallel with the Affliction PPV) and it looks like Affliction might be in for another big loss. and I just know, when Affliction folds.. Fedor's idiot manager will fuck things up again and he'll still not end up in the UFC. Just fighting cans in Japan for absurd pay days instead.
